When you need it
A soft baby hair brush is useful from birth for gentle grooming, even if your baby has very little hair yet, and many parents find a slow brush after bath time soothing. It usually stays handy through about 24 months, when thicker toddler hair calls for a regular brush or wide-tooth comb.
What to look for
Look for natural goat hair or very soft synthetic bristles that are gentle on the scalp. A small, rounded head and comfortable handle help with control. Some sets include a fine comb for later. Check that the brush is easy to clean and dries quickly.
