When you need it

A kitchen helper tower becomes useful from around 15 months, once toddlers stand steadily and want to help in the kitchen. It often stays in use through about 60 months, until children are tall enough to use a regular step stool safely.

What to look for

Choose a sturdy tower with enclosed sides on all four sides and a wide base that resists tipping when a toddler leans. An adjustable platform height lets it grow with your child, so they always stand at counter level. Check the weight limit, the overall footprint and whether it folds for storage in a small kitchen. Look for sanded edges, a non-toxic finish and non-slip feet.

Kitchen Helper Tower: common questions

When does a baby need a kitchen helper tower?
