When you need it
A silicone milk collector is most useful in the early weeks after birth, when let-down from the other breast is strong. Many parents stop using it by around 6 months as supply settles and leaking decreases.
What to look for
Look for food-grade silicone that is soft and flexible with good suction. A wide base and a stopper or lid help prevent spills if baby kicks it. Check that it is easy to clean, ideally dishwasher-safe or easy to boil. A flat base helps it stand up between uses.
