When you need it
A bath rinse cup is useful from around 6 months, when babies sit up in the tub, eat messier foods and need their hair rinsed more often. It stays handy through about 60 months, or for as long as your child protests about water running into their eyes.
What to look for
Choose a cup with a soft, flexible rim that rests against your child's forehead and guides water back over the hair instead of down the face. A sturdy handle helps you pour with one hand while the other steadies your child. Look for a design without hidden cavities so it drains and dries fully between baths. BPA-free plastic or silicone is easy to wipe clean.
Bath Rinse Cup: common questions
- Do I need a bath rinse cup?
- Not essential. Any plastic cup, a watering can or your cupped hand can rinse hair. A rinse cup simply makes it easier to keep shampoo and water out of eyes, which can make hair washing less of a battle.
- When does a baby need a bath rinse cup?
